Our Approach
Consulting
The first step in our process is to do a comprehensive needs
assessment of the current project. This usually starts with a prospective or current
client contacting us and explaining the initial details of their project. Or by
filling out our needs assessment form online.
Once we have complete details on the project scope and all major requirements have
been gathered, we will put together an initial proposal (Click here for a sample proposal). Our initial
proposal will be presented to the client and any modifications will be made during
this phase. Once both parties are in agreement on the project deliverables, a standard
contract will be drafted by 13 Below Consulting. This will be presented to the client
and client sign off would be required to move forward.
Development
Once a contract is in place, 13 Below Consulting will get to
work on the current project. Development can be done in-house on our machines, client
can provide VPN/Remote Desktop access to one of their machines, or on occasion we
can be on-site locally.
We provide a staging link (accessible 24 hours a day via our Client Demo Area) at the beginning of the project, so client
can view progress and milestones being reached. In addition, we send detailed work
logs with each invoice so client can see what they are being invoiced for.
There will be a review process midway through the project between 13 Below Consulting
and the client. This is where both parties review the initial requirements so there
is no confusion. If there is any increase in scope to the original project requirements
outlined in the contract, both parties will discuss at this point.
Delivery of Final Solution
Once development and unit testing phases are complete, and the client is satisfied, the final solution will be delivered. If agreed upon, 13 Below Consulting will be responsible for deploying the final solution as well. In the case of a web application, we will deploy to the client's web server. In the case of a windows forms (.exe) application, we will set up the deployment and installation package for the client. And so forth...
In addition, we will burn a copy of the final source files (web files, pdfs, graphics, photoshop files, flash files, etc) and mail to the client so they have a backup of the work provided.
